Independent Wroclaw

Independent Wroclaw gathers under one heading the part of the festival given to the city's independent scene: groups without permanent stages, projects made outside institutional programmes, and work that circulates through clubs and improvised spaces rather than concert halls.

The strand runs over more than one day of the festival and is built from short sets played one after another. That format suits the material: most of these acts do not have an evening-length programme, and hearing several in a row gives a better picture than any single one would.

For the audience it is the cheapest way into the festival — this part of the programme is kept open and unticketed wherever the venue allows it.
