Diplomas 2006

Diplomas 2006 belongs to the plastic arts section of the festival. The exhibition shows the diploma works of that year's graduates — the pieces made as the final work of their studies and shown publicly for the first time.

Graduate shows have a particular place in the festival's programme. They are the point at which work made inside a school leaves it, and they give a picture of what the youngest generation of artists in the city is doing before any of it reaches the commercial galleries.

The show is open through the festival days, and admission to it is free — like most of the exhibition programme, it is meant to be walked into rather than booked.
