Women of Wroclaw
Women of Wroclaw
Women of Wroclaw is a project about the women whose work shaped the city — those who ran its institutions, taught in it, healed in it and rebuilt it after the war, and who are mentioned far less often than the buildings they left behind.
The material is local and largely archival: photographs, documents and accounts gathered in the city itself. Presented together, they change the ordinary picture of how post-war Wroclaw came into being.
The project belongs to the part of the festival made specifically about the city rather than brought into it. Such items are usually the ones that draw the residents themselves, because the streets, houses and institutions in them are the ones people pass every day.
The form of the presentation, the venue and the dates are listed in the programme section; this part of the programme is free to attend.
