Ethno Rainbow Tent

The Ethno Rainbow Tent is a separate stage of the festival, put up for the duration of the ten days and given over to world music — traditional forms and the contemporary projects that grow out of them.

A tent is not an accidental choice of venue. It sits in the open, can be entered and left at any point, and holds an audience that stands rather than sits, which suits music meant for dancing far better than a concert hall does.

The programme of the tent mixes registers on purpose: an ensemble playing a regional repertoire can be followed by a group that mixes the same material with electronics. Over an evening this produces the range the name promises.

Hours for each day of the tent are listed in the programme; this part of the festival is generally open without tickets.
